This module is designed to provide a structured introduction to parametric insurance and its practical application in catastrophe-exposed regions.
It is divided into three sections:
- Introduction to Parametric Insurance – An overview of what parametric insurance is, how it works, its core components, and the key benefits it can deliver to your clients.
- Parametric & Traditional Insurance – A comparison of parametric and indemnity-based insurance, highlighting how the two differ and how parametric solutions are typically positioned alongside traditional insurance products.
- Real-World Scenarios – Practical examples illustrating how parametric insurance can be structured and applied to address real financial challenges following a catastrophe event.
By the end of this module, you should have a clear understanding of how parametric insurance works, how it differs from traditional coverage, and how to identify where it can add meaningful value within catastrophe-exposed portfolios.
This module should take approximately 30–35 minutes to complete.
